Competition Held to Select Top Iranian Quran Memorizers

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An competition was held Sunday among top Quran memorizers to select Iran’s representatives in international Quran contests.

 

Twelve memorizers of the entire Quran took part in the competition, which was held via videoconference.

Ali Reza Sameri from Khuzestan province, Mohammad Khakpour from Razavi Khorasan, Abuzar Karami from Markazi, Hossein Khani from Isfahan, Ahmad Motamedi from Qom, Sina Tabakhi from East Azarbaijan, Omid Reza Rahimi from Gilan, Mohammad Reza Ahmadi from Qom, Mohammad Rasoul Takbiri from Tehran and Mohammad Laeini and Amir Hossein Zargari from Mazandaran are vying for the top position. 

They went to the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Departments in their respective province today to attend the Quranic event.

The 12 Quran memorizers were the top contenders in the country’s national Quran competition held in 2019 and 2020.

Members of the panel of judges included top Quran experts Mo’taz Aqaei, Amir Aqaei, Mohammad Abbasi, Hossein Akhavan Moqaddam, Mohsen Yarhamadi, Abbas Emamjome and Mohammad Mehdi Bahrololum.

According to the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organizations, the top participants will be announced next week.

They will represent the Islamic Republic in international Quran competitions in different countries.
